GoPrint3D partner with Mayku to launch the FormBox in the UK

London-based Mayku’s FormBox was released for sale in the US and the UK last week.  The FormBox smashed it’s Kickstarter goal of  $50,000 goal by over 1,000% and is now in stock at GoPrint3D.

Powered by a vacuum cleaner, Mayku’s desktop vacuum forming machine is quick and easy to use.  It allows designers and makers to create items in a range of different materials including chocolate, wax, soap, concrete, jesmonite, ice, plaster… the list goes on.

“We were so impressed when we first saw the FormBox that we immediately backed it on Kickstarter.  Now we are a partner as well as a backer” said Jo Young, Managing Director at GoPrint3D, “It’s the perfect accessory to 3D printers like the Form 2 so we are delighted to add it to our range”

Many of Mayku’s fans already own a 3D printer, so this could be the next purchase for 3D enthusiasts.  The key advantage is that a 3D print can be vacuum formed using the FormBox and then used as a mould to replicate it very quickly and in a range of materials which can’t all be directly 3D printed.

Ben Redford, Co-Founder and CPO says: “Vacuum forming was previously something found in makerspaces and in schools due to their cost and size. We are thrilled to have the support of the 3D printing industry and have been blown away with what makers have been designing.”

The FormBox is currently in stock and available to buy from GoPrint3D for £499 excluding VAT.
